Banbury & District Samaritans listening volunteer Phil ran the London Marathon on behalf of Samaritans raising funds and awareness.
Posted 4th October 2021
When Phil first signed up to run the London Marathon and began training it was for the event scheduled for April 2020. Being a keen runner and having completed several marathons in the past, securing a place for London was a long held ambition for him, but sadly it wasn't to be. However, the place was held open until the marathon could be run again and it was too much of an opportunity to turn down despite having developed dodgy knees over the intervening months! He successfully completed the course raising well in excess of £2,500 for Samaritans in the process. Further proof that Samaritans volunteers will always go the extra mile (or 26) for a cause we are so passionate about. Thank you Phil.
