Chiltern Samaritans celebrates the official opening of its new premises in Amersham with local MP Sarah Green
Chiltern Samaritans celebrated its move into new building with Sarah Green MP formally opening the branch at 152 Station Road in Amersham. Local Chesham and Amersham MP Sarah Green cut the ribbon in an official ceremony in the new building, joined by guests from local town councils, community groups and businesses.
Chiltern Samaritans, which has been based in Amersham for over 50 years, has relocated just a few doors down from where it was, to 152 Station Road. The new premises are bigger and brighter and will allow the team of 100+ volunteers at the Branch to better support callers at a national level and also locally, within the community. The move was made possible thanks to a number of generous legacy donations over the last couple of years.
Amanda Weaver, Branch Director at Chiltern Samaritans said: “I’m delighted that we have been able to celebrate what is an important move for us, and we’re grateful to our local MP Sarah Green for officially opening our branch. We remain very much in the heart of Amersham and the community locally, and our larger premises in Amersham will allow us to grow our team of volunteers and reach out further into the local community”.
Sarah Green, MP for Chesham and Amersham said: “Samaritans provides much needed emotional support to millions of callers each year and it means a lot to me to be here with the volunteers and local community to mark the opening of the new Branch in the centre of Amersham”.
