On 9th May we planted, ‘The Listening Tree’ in Newbridge Linear Park. The oak tree was donated by Newbridge Tidy Towns; the plaque was donated by Newbridge Memorials. It was a very successful event, attended by some of our volunteers, Newbridge Tidy Towns, Cllr Chris Pender, Cllr Peggy O’Dwyer, rep of Senator Fiona O’Loughlin as well as a photographer for local press and members of the public.
Vivienne McWey a local renowned poet from Kildare Town wrote and read a poem on the day. Many thanks to all who participated in this event.
We hope that the tree now, and in the years to come will be a symbol of solace, peace and hope, and that many generations will enjoy sitting under its canopy.
