For every £1 raised, 80p goes on our services and just 20p is invested in raising the next £1.
Why we need your support
Every 10 seconds, Samaritans responds to a call for help. Our team of trained volunteers are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
In 2018, there were 6,944 suicides in the UK and Republic of Ireland
Every 90 minutes, someone in the UK or Ireland takes their own life
In the UK, men are three times more likely to take their own lives than women
Everything that’s been said about our service being needed more than ever is true. Most of my calls were intense. I was so glad I could be there. And the callers were all so grateful too.
