Frequently asked questions
Why did I receive this email?
For us to continue sending you email updates about our work, we need to know you are happy for us to do so. This means we need your explicit consent via an opt-in.
I’ve already agreed to receive emails in the past, why am I having to do it again?
We really appreciate you telling us that you want to hear more about our work. By law, we are required to check in with you every so often to make sure you are still happy to receive these emails from us, which is why we reached out on this occasion.
What will I receive if I opt-in?
You will continue to receive updates about our work, as you have done previously
I don’t remember ever opting in to receive emails from you.
We apologise if our records are inaccurate; we can update your record immediately. You will also stop receiving email from us if you do not take action on the email, unless you explicitly opt-in at some point in future.
What do I need to do?
If you would like to continue receiving emails from Samaritans about our work, simply follow the instructions in the email and opt-in.
What happens if I do nothing?
Samaritans will no longer be able send you email updates about our work, unless you explicitly opt-in again at some point in the future.
Can I opt-out/I no longer want to receive emails from Samaritans
Thank you for letting us know. We can unsubscribe you now, or you will automatically stop receiving emails as your consent ‘expires’ if you do not take any action.
Are you asking for money?
No – this is an email asking you to confirm if you are happy to continue receiving email updates from us.
I no longer use this email address.
That’s no problem – if you would like to continue receiving emails from us, we can update your contact details now and take your opt-in.
