Swansea Samaritans

Samaritans’ Vision is that fewer people die by Suicide.

Swansea Samaritans volunteers have been supporting the communities of Swansea, Neath/Port Talbot and Carmarthenshire since 1961.

Over 100 volunteers spend well over 6000 hours each year, providing a confidential and non-judgmental telephone and email listening service, every day of the week, including weekends and holidays and overnight. As part of Samaritans nationally we provide emotional support to people experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which may lead to suicide.

Samaritans work in partnership with Network Rail and Transport For Wales. We frequently attend railway stations to raise awareness. We are also asked to attend if an incident is suspected, or if a suicide has occurred on the railway network, to support staff and members of the public. Outreach at Swansea

Swansea Samaritans are involved with local Mental Health Forums. We visit many local groups, either to offer emotional support or to raise awareness.

We are always recruiting more volunteers including listening volunteers and also people who may be willing to give talks or are interested in publicity, marketing and fundraising. Swansea Samaritans is a charity in its own right and we have to fundraise to keep it going. If you would like to donate to Swansea Samaritans, please click here. Fundraising at Swansea

We also have a charity shop in the Uplands in Swansea, and are always looking for more shop volunteers.

All members of our branch are volunteers!

Samariaid Abertawe:

Gweledigaeth y Samariaid yw y bydd llai o bobl yn marw drwy hunanladdiad.

Mae gwirfoddolwyr Samariaid Abertawe wedi bod yn cefnogi cymunedau Abertawe, Castell Nedd/Port Talbot a Sir Gaerfyrddin ers 1961.

Mae dros 100 o wirfoddolwyr yn treulio ymhell dros 6000 o oriau’r flwyddyn yn darparu gwasanaeth gwrando cyfrinachol heb feirniadaeth dros y ffôn ac ebost, bob dydd o’r wythnos, yn cynnwys penwythnosau, gwyliau a thros nos. Fel rhan o’r Samariaid yn genedlaethol, rydym ni’n darparu cymorth emosiynol i bobl sy’n profi teimladau o ofid neu anobaith, yn cynnwys rhai a allai arwain at hunanladdiad.

Mae’r Samariaid yn gweithio mewn partneriaeth gyda Network Rail a Trafnidiaeth i Gymru. Rydym ni’n aml yn ymweld â gorsafoedd trên i godi ymwybyddiaeth. Gofynnir i ni ymweld hefyd os oes amheuaeth am ddigwyddiad, neu os oes hunanladdiad wedi digwydd ar y rhwydwaith rheilffyrdd, er mwyn cefnogi staff ac aelodau o’r cyhoedd.

Mae Samariaid Abertawe’n ymwneud â Fforymau Iechyd Meddwl lleol. Rydym ni’n ymweld â llawer o grwpiau lleol, naill ai i gynnig cymorth emosiynol neu i godi ymwybyddiaeth.

Rydym ni bob amser yn recriwtio mwy o wirfoddolwyr yn cynnwys gwirfoddolwyr gwrando, a hefyd pobl a fyddai’n fodlon rhoi sgyrsiau neu sydd â diddordeb mewn cyhoeddusrwydd, marchnata a chodi arian. Mae Samariaid Abertawe yn elusen yn ei hawl ei hun ac mae’n rhaid i ni godi arian i’w chadw i fynd. Os hoffech wneud rhodd i Samariaid Abertawe, cliciwch y ddolen isod.

Mae gennym ni siop elusen hefyd yn yr Uplands yn Abertawe, ac rydym ni wastad yn edrych am fwy o bobl i wirfoddoli yn y siop.

Mae holl aelodau ein cangen yn wirfoddolwyr!

Oes gennych chi ddiddordeb mewn gwirfoddoli i ni? I gael gwybod mwy cliciwch ar y ddolen 'Gwirfoddoli yn y Gangen hon' isod:
