North West Surrey Samaritans moved to Charities House in Walton on Thames on 28th September. The branch joined 10 other charities who are part of Walton Charity’s vision to ‘create a community under one roof’, to house and support local charities and not for profit organisations.
At North West Surrey Samaritans we provide a safe place, where people can be themselves and talk about whatever’s bothering them.
On the phone, over email or text, or face-to-face we give people the space and time to work through their problems, helping them find their own way forward.
There are many other ways you can support the branch.
We work hard so fewer people die by suicide. We also try to reach people before they feel suicidal and we do this by:
Being available twenty-four hours a day to provide emotional support for people who are struggling to cope or experiencing feelings of emotional distress, including those that might lead to suicide.
Reaching out to high risk groups and our community to reduce the risk of suicide.
Working in partnership with other organisations to reduce the number of people who die by suicide.
We are "powered" solely by volunteers, so if you're a warm, empathic people who would like to help others in our community you're welcome to attend an information evening to find out more about volunteering with the branch.
