Newbridge Samaritans at Leinster House

We received an invitation from Shónagh Ní Raghailaigh, T.D. to attend, ‘Leinster House’, on 17th Dec. Three active listening volunteers from Newbridge Samaritans Branch attended representing Kildare & Laois Samaritans. Also attending was Sarah O’Toole and Sarah Stack from Samaritans Ireland. Also attending was a volunteer from Dublin Samaritans Branch. It was a very enjoyable and worthwhile event. Our volunteers spoke to sitting TD’s, Deputies and Senator, on our role and experiences as active listeners. Shónagh also organised getting ‘Leinster House’ lit in green for, ‘The Longest Night Campaign’ at our request.
