In 1965, Harrow Samaritans answered its first call.
Just one phone, three hours a day and a handful of dedicated volunteers - based right here at 44 Station Road.
Sixty years later, we’re still here!
Still listening. Still offering support. Still run by volunteers.
Today, we’re proud to be part of a network of over 200 Samaritans branches across the UK and Ireland helping provide 24/7 emotional support for anyone who needs it.
In 2025 so far (as of May 24th), we have:
- Answered 5,182 emotional support calls
- Replied to 965 emails
- And trained 11 new volunteers
- Our volunteers have been out and about for outreach work and events
Every single one of those moments was made possible by our volunteers - and by the support of people like you.
