How we can help
Is something weighing heavily on your mind? Do you need to talk to a person, face to face? We're there for you. Come down to the branch during our opening hours and we'll be there to listen.
We offer a listening service to callers who contact us by phone, email or SMS.
We attend local businesses, schools and colleges to talk about the work that Samaritans do and the importance of well being and emotional health.
Supporting Great Yarmouth and North East Norfolk for over fifty years...
The Samaritans of Great Yarmouth and North East Norfolk have been offering support to the people of Great Yarmouth, Norfolk and beyond as members of the Samaritans Charity for over fifty years. We are a small but committed branch of less than 50 volunteers, but we strive to be there for our callers, visitors and writers at times when they need someone to be there for them.
The branch is open to visitors up to 29 hours of the week (see our opening hours above) and is staffed by volunteers responding to calls, texts and emails for up to 45 hours of the week. In April 2019 we spent 155 hours answering 785 calls, replying to 103 emails and 195 text messages. We would love to increase those numbers! Want to help? Find out more information about volunteering with us below.
