Samaritans Brierley Hill helped spread festive cheer across the community this year by taking part in the annual Christmas Tree Festival at St. Mary’s Church, Wordsley and at the Wordsley Glass Museum
The festival at St. Mary’s once again transformed the church into a sparkling forest of decorated trees, each created by local groups, charities, and schools. The Samaritans’ contribution, themed “Light in the Darkness”, reflected the charity’s mission to offer hope and support to anyone struggling emotionally. Their tree featured uplifting messages, green‑and‑white decorations, and information about how to reach the Samaritans’ helpline.
In addition to the church display, the Brierley Hill branch also decorated a tree at the Wordsley Glass Museum, extending their presence to another much‑loved local venue. Volunteers said they were proud to be involved in both events, describing them as valuable opportunities to connect with the community during a season that can be joyful for many but challenging for others.
Organisers from both venues praised the Samaritans’ thoughtful displays, noting that their message of compassion and support added depth and meaning to the festivities.
With strong visitor turnout and warm feedback, the Samaritans Brierley Hill team helped ensure that this year’s celebrations were not only festive but also filled with kindness and community spirit.
