Can you volunteer to help us light up the night?

Our incredible volunteers give up their time to deliver our 24-hour emotional support. The night time can be particularly tough for people feeling overwhelmed and Samaritans wants to recruit people willing to give up a few hours overnight, or in the early hours of the morning, twice a month, so people have someone to turn to.

You don’t need to have been through a particular life experience or be from a certain walk of life. Anyone 18 or over, who wants to help others, is tolerant, non judgemental and open-minded is welcome to apply.

What you get out of being a volunteer?

Above all you’ll have the incredible satisfaction of knowing you’re helping people who are in despair. In addition, you’ll learn valuable new skills, make new friendships, and be part of an amazing group of people.
