In April we sprang into action at Bicester North Station promoting Samaritans' annual Small Talk Saves Lives campaign.
After a great visit to Banbury Station it was good to once again head down to Bicester North where we had a warm reception for our very early, chilly start. Being able to talk to travellers and staff about the work we do and how they can potentially save a life just by starting a simple conversation is something our volunteers are passionate about.
A sunny visit to Banbury & Bicester College
We were delighted to be invited back to Banbury & Bicester College for their Wellness Day in May. The sun was shining (note the cool shades of our volunteers) and as always the students and staff were so welcoming. It was gratifying to note from some of chats with students how well informed they were about the importance of looking after their mental wellbeing, being pro-active and also seeking support if needed. And they also love lollipops!
Our local MP Sean Woodcock came to visit
On 22nd May we were proud to welcome Sean Woodcock our local MP. He showed great interest in the work of Samaritans and also told us of some of the work taking place in Parliament relevant to the charity.
