Our vision is that fewer people die by suicide. We work to achieve this vision by making it our mission to alleviate emotional distress and reduce the incidence of suicidal feelings.
Monaghan is an entirely volunteer-run satellite office of Samaritans Drogheda & North East (which was founded in 1996). As Drogheda branch had several dedicated volunteers in Monaghan, making the long journey each week to volunteer, we decided to launch a centre in Monaghan town in 2025.
The Monaghan satellite opened in July 2025, following the training of new volunteers locally.
We cover four counties: Louth, Meath, Cavan & Monaghan. We offer our volunteers comprehensive training and continued mentorship.
