We’re looking for people aged 16+ from England to complete the survey who have experience of non-suicidal self-harm at some point in their lives.
Thank you for your interest in our survey. We want to hear your views and experiences so we can help improve the support available to people who self-harm.
- In the survey, we will ask some questions about different types of support and what might help people who have self-harmed. Whilst we will not ask you to recount your experiences of self-harm in detail, we realise that some of the questions may be sensitive. We hope you will feel able to take part, but your participation is voluntary and you can stop at any time. The survey is anonymous and any data used will not include any identifying information about you. Contact details for support services are also provided at the end of the questionnaire.
The survey should take around 15 minutes to complete. The survey asks about:
- Screening questions around self-harm and suicide attempts
- What are the benefits of support that are more important for reducing and recovering from self-harm
- Which support types can deliver these outcomes?
- Some more general questions about support for self-harm
The findings from the survey will be used in internal and external research reports and presentations, written by Samaritans, and on social media. The things you tell us in the survey might be quoted in these reports, but we would not include any identifying information about you.
