Samaritans Media Guidelines
Samaritans Media Guidelines are here for journalists reporting
suicide in any media from factual description to dramatic
portrayal. Developed over time with the press, they outline suicide
facts, media myths, signs of suicide risk and offer advice on what
to avoid as well as suggesting recommended phrases to use when
reporting or talking about suicide.

Radio Two’s record of the week profits Samaritans

Samaritans supporters Ben’s
Brother have been awarded Radio Two’s record of the week
(17th March 2008) for their new single ‘Stuttering (Kiss
me again)’ with all royalties from the sale of the single
going to Samaritans.
The London Indie band, that
teamed up with Samaritans for Stress Down Day, have had
international success with the single after it featured on a
chewing gum advert in the USA.

The single is available for
download from Monday 14th April and will be on general
release from Monday 21st April, with a B-side
featuring the song the band have written as a result of the
‘Win a song’ competition for Samaritans.
Ben’s Brother’s UK Tour starts at King Tut’s
