About Chiltern Samaritans

Chiltern Samaritans has provided emotional support to people in our local area and beyond since 1968. We give people time and space to express their feelings in a safe and confidential environment. We listen, we don't judge and we never tell people what they should do.

We aim to be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year. We mainly support the following areas.

  • Amersham
  • Chesham
  • High Wycombe
  • The Chalfonts
  • Great Missenden
  • Beaconsfield
  • Aylesbury

Dear Visitor

At the moment our building is closed for some much needed refurbishment and the installation of disabled facilities. We expect to be finished by around August 28th. We’re really sorry, but right now, we don’t have anywhere to be able to talk you in person. If you’d like to talk with someone face to face, the nearest branches to here are Watford, Slough and Oxford. You can find address details for them all at www.samaritans.org

There are other ways to be in touch with us. We’re always here

by phone on 01494 432000

by SMS on 07727 909090

by e-mail at jo@samaritans.org

Thank you for bearing with us. We’ll be back to normal again just as soon as we can.

Working in our Community

We reach out to people and organisations within our community to raise awareness of our service and support as many people in need as possible. Our outreach team works with HMP Aylesbury, community organisations and High Wycombe JobCentrePlus.

You can find out more about our outreach work here

Volunteering for Chiltern Samaritans

The branch is run solely by volunteers and there are many different ways for people to get involved. Most volunteers support callers by phone, email and text. However, our branch could not operate without the help of our support volunteers who provide administrative and operational expertise. We welcome those who are intetested in learning about volunteering with Chiltern samaritans, in whatever capacity. To find out more information about what it is like to volunteer with us click here

Our branch is totally dependent on public donations, the fund-raising efforts of our volunteers and corporate sponsorship. We would be very grateful for your support. You can do so by attending an event, donating to our branch, or suggesting ideas as to how we can raise funds.

More information about our fundraising activities can be found here.
