Welcome to Swindon and District Samaritans

Swindon and District Samaritans has been offering emotional support to those in crisis for more than 40 years. We now have over a hundred 'listening' volunteers from all walks of life and all ages who continue this hugely important work.  These are supported by our fundraisers, shop volunteers and administrators.

Swindon and District is one of 201 Samaritans affiliated branches that ensure emotional support is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.   Access to our service is available by telephone, e-mail, SMS texting and face to face at our building in Curtis Street.  We also support Listeners, who offer emotional support to fellow inmates at  Erlestoke Prison near Devizes.

We promote our work though a talks and information service to many local schools and groups, as well as having a presence at events in Swindon and Wiltshire.

Our Centre and Shop are in  Curtis Street near Swindon Town Centre.

We are always looking for new people to join us - either as listening volunteers, offering emotional support to those who need it, or as support volunteers looking after administration, publicity, fundraising, etc.  For more information visit our volunteer pages.  Change someone's life: your own!

No opinions, no advice .......................just a listening ear
