If you would like to become a Listening Volunteer it is important that you are aware and can commit to the extensive training you will need before you are allowed to take your first call. If your application is successful following our Selection Day, you will be required to attend approximately 30-35 hours of training - split into nine sessions and spread over a two month period - ALL of which you will have to attend in order to become a Samaritans Listening Volunteer. We recognise that this is a 'big ask', so if you would like to know the dates of our next training sessions they are available here.
