Joanna Taylor and Danny Murphy have been our patrons at Samaritans of East Surrey (Reigate) since 2010.
Joanna Taylor and Danny Murphy have been our patrons since 2010. They are excellent role models and we are confident that we will have a long and fruitful bond with them. Both are committed to publicising the aims and values of Samaritans, especially in the local area. Danny has already appeared on local London radio explaining the merits of our service.
Danny having previously played for Blackburn Rovers, Fulham, Liverpool, Charlton Athletic (when they were in the Premiership) and Tottenham Hotspur, now a leading pundit for the BBC on shows including Match of the Day. He has also been capped for England nine times and would almost certainly have played in the 2002 World Cup had it not been for injury.
Joanna is Danny’s wife and is an actress, model and writer. She starred in the TV series “Hollyoaks” and “Merseybeat” before becoming a mother and has gone on to be a columnist for The Times newspaper and other publications. Joanna is also a patron of the charity CLIC Sargent.
Joanna and Danny are helping to increase the profile of the branch and Samaritans via press interviews, attendance at events and various other activities . We wish them both well in their roles and thank them for the support they are giving.
