Youth Pack

Youth Pack

The Youth Pack is a useful resource for teachers or those working with young people.

Published in 1999

This pack helps you to introduce young people to a range of issues that affect emotional health and wellbeing. From the moment of birth, as we grow and develop, emotional issues affect us all, to a greater or lesser extent. Often the transition from childhood to adulthood is an extremely emotional one and, for many young people, emotional confusion commonly associated with puberty and adolescence may ultimately lead to dejection, distress, despair and suicide.

This pack has been produced to support teachers and others in their work with young people, by providing resource materials and suggesting ways these may be used to facilitate the emotional health and well being of the young people with whom they work. A short evaluation form has been included at the back of this pack. It would be extremely helpful if you would take a few minutes to fill it in and return it to us.

It contains a series of practical workshops and information in the following areas:

  • Helping you to help Young People
  • Emotional health and wellbeing
  • Stress Anxiety and Fear
  • Isolation

Aims of the pack are:

  • To introduce young people to a range of issues that affect emotional health
  • To explore those factors that contribute to emotional well being
  • To examine feelings commonly associated with emotional health and well being
  • To explore the impact of emotional ill health and distress upon daily life.
