Welcome to Ware Samaritans

Volunteer on the phone Samaritans offers confidential emotional support to anyone who is passing through a crisis or thinking of taking their own life. We give those who call us time and space to express their feelings, helping them talk through their options and find a way to face the future. We are not aligned to any religious or political persuasion. We listen, we do not judge and we do not offer advice.

There has been a Samaritans branch in Ware since 1968, serving mid and east Hertfordshire and west Essex. The main towns we serve are Welwyn Garden City, Hatfield, Potters Bar, Cheshunt, Broxbourne, Hoddesdon, Epping, Harlow, Bishops Stortford, Buntingford, Hertford and Ware.

We provide a telephone service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and our centre is open for visitors from 9.30am to 10.00pm; more recently we have added the ability to support callers by email and SMS text messaging. The branch receives about 30,000 contacts each year, mostly by phone but also by email, SMS and visitors to the centre.

Whether you are looking for support, just want to know more about Samaritans or would like to offer your time or make a donation, we hope you will find what you are looking for on our website. If you require further information please do phone, write, visit or email us.
