Samaritans vision is for a society in
which:
- Fewer people die by suicide
- People are able to explore their feelings
- People are able to acknowledge and respect the feelings of
others
Listening volunteers are always needed to provide
confidential emotional support for people who are experiencing
feelings of distress or despair,including those which may lead to
suicide.
You can also apply to help in our shop, or join our Friends
group or help with administration or in other ways. Let us know how
you'd like to help :-)

Listening volunteers commit to a minimum of 3-4 hours per week,
as well as a 6 hour night duty at monthly intervals. Different
commitments apply to other volunteers. We try to accommodate
everyone!
There are no prior qualifications required but an open mind is
essential.
