Bedford volunteers get a great sense of satisfaction in simply being there for people in distress. We know we can change people’s lives.

We have been offering emotional support to local and national callers for more than 40 years.

If you would like to join us, and can commit to a minimum of 16 hours every 4 weeks, including one night duty 10.30pm – 2.30am or 2.30am – 8am, then please contact us.

We will provide full training and mentoring as well as ongoing support and training. We will also open up a world where you will make new friends, learn new skills, improve your life skills and achieve things you never imagined.

To find out more, just turn up to one of our hour-long Information Events which are held at 7.30pm on the first Monday of every month at 23 Foster Hill Road.

Samaritans offers confidential emotional support to anyone who is passing through a crisis or thinking of taking their own life. We give those who call us time and space to express their feelings, helping them talk through their options and find a way to face the future. We are not aligned to any religious or political persuasion. We listen, we do not judge and we do not offer advice.

Whether you are looking for support, just want to know more about Samaritans or would like to offer your time or make a donation, please phone, write, visit, email or text us.
