Samaritans local branch

People contact Samaritans every seven seconds for many reasons: relationship problems, health worries, financial problems, stress at work, loneliness and bereavement.  We received over 5.3million calls for help in 2007, but less than 2% of our income is from Government and Statutory sources.

Samaritans need to make sure we are open to listen to as many people as possible over in 2009. And for that we need your help. Please give a gift so we can be there for the people who have no-one else to turn to. Thousands of people are relying on Samaritans. Can we rely on you?

Thank you.

Getting married? Stuck for birthday ideas? Anniversary looming?

Give It Gifts logosConsider an alternative gift list

Do your friends and family give gifts every year that you simply don't need or want, or perhaps you are getting married and already own many typical wedding list items? Then why not ask your friends and family to buy a gift from the unique Give It website?

The services puts an end to receiving yet more kettles, unwanted bathrobes and inappropriate socks by allowing gift-givers, at the request of the recipient, to donate to charity instead.

Samaritans is one of the participating charities where a gift could make a real difference to someone in distress.
