Stockport College, Stockport Samaritans and Great Places Housing Group come together for presentation of construction tools!
Workers in the construction industry face many challenges due to uncertainty of contracts, pressure of work and difficult working environments.
Our volunteers have been providing training for construction students to help their emotional resilience which will give them skills for life. Roy from the branch came up with idea of giving tools to students with Samaritans contact details. Great Places were generous in providing funding.
Stockport Samaritans are part of the College Partnership. They provide training for students and staff in many departments.
Director of the branch, Lynn Sbaih says:
“We have worked with the College for several years. The presentation of the tools for students is a special moment in that collaboration. We hope that they will be a reminder to students that Samaritans are there to listen 24/7 every day of the year. We are grateful to Great Places for making this happen.”
