About Telford Samaritans
Telford Samaritans was founded in 1975. In addition to offering support by phone, email and face-to-face, Telford Samaritans also reach out into the community by:
- Visiting offenders at "HMP & YOI Stoke Heath" near Market Drayton
- Supplying speakers to talk to groups and organisations interested in learning more about our work
- Attending local secondary schools and colleges to explain the work of Samaritans and offer support to students
More information on our work in the community can be found here.
In 1999 Telford Samaritans were given a National Lottery grant, enabling us to expand our centre in Wellington. Read more information here.
Volunteering with Telford Samaritans
Telford Samaritans hold information sessions throughout the year, giving potential volunteers a chance to ask questions about the services we offer and meet some of the team. This is followed by another meeting to cover any questions and to give us a chance to get to know people and what interestes them. All the sessions are held at the branch. For further details, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or see our news feed for information on the next dates.
