Welcome to Samaritans of Bournemouth and District
Thank you for your interest in Samaritans of Bournemouth and District branch.
We are part of the national Samaritans charity, providing emotional and non-judgemental support offering a safe space to talk through your feelings.
- Bournemouth Branch has been open since 1961 and was the sixth branch to open outside of Central London. There are now over 200 branches across the UK and Republic of Ireland.
- Our branch has grown in volunteer numbers over the years; and we are now open every day, 365 days a year. In 2025, our volunteers continued to answer calls and emails in branch, where our volunteers responded to well over 18,000 calls and around 7,000 emails.
- Bournemouth Samaritans also engages with our local communities working with local schools, Bournemouth University, Bournemouth Police (working in their Custody Suite), Hope For Food and Southwestern Rail amongst others. If you would like us to deliver a talk at your local organisation or business, please get in touch by emailing [email protected]
- Our trained volunteers reflect the diverse community of Bournemouth and the surrounding areas. We are proud of every one of our listening and support volunteers!
Our branch can only remain open with your generous donations, fundraisers and gifts in wills. Please consider Bournemouth branch as your Charity of the Year or Charity Campaign for 2026!
