There is just under one month left to register for the Samaritans National Walk, being hosted this year by North Herts and Stevenage Samaritans.
People from all over the country are invited to participate in one of three walks, of different lengths starting at 8am on July 1, to raise vital funds for Hitchin Samaritans. The event concludes with an evening of food, fun and entertainment, including a performance by the fabulous Bedford Rock Choir.
Starting from Hitchin’s Priory School, across Hertfordshire and into the Chiltern Hills, there are walks of three different lengths:
- 20 miles – starting at 8am
- 13 miles – starting at 8.30am
- 5 miles – starting anytime between 9am and 10.30am.
For those looking for a shorter walk, there is a 3.5-mile option, with free lifts back from the town centre.
Further information about the walk and registration fees can be found on the Samaritans website, or you can reach the team by emailing [email protected]. The closing date for entries is June 1.
