|About Bristol Branch||Volunteering||Fundraising|
Hi, my name is Martyn and I'm the Director of the Bristol Branch of Samaritans.
2014 is a special year for us as it is our 50th anniversary. During the last 50 years, we have been proudly supporting our local community in the Bristol and South Gloucestershire area - providing 24-hour support to those who need it.
Last year at our branch in the heart of the city, our 160 volunteers took over 53,000 contacts for help by phone, email, texting and face to face visits.
We also do talks for community groups, schools and other organisations interested in our work. We are fortunate to have partnerships with many local organisations, including local health services, HM Prison Bristol, HM Prison Eastwood Park, CRUSE and SARI.
We open the branch for an informal information evening on the first Monday of every month (including Bank Holidays) from 7.15 – 9.00 pm. If you've ever considered becoming a volunteer, or wanted to find out about other ways you can help to support our work, then do come along for a chat. It would be a pleasure to meet you.
