Donating to Samaritans straight from your pay is a quick and easy way to regularly support us, and it’s tax efficient, too…
Payroll Giving provides us with regular income; this helps us plan for the long term and means that we can continue to answer every call for help.
A payroll giving pledge of £5 per month costs the basic rate tax payer just £4 and we receive the full £5 pledged, as the tax man pays the rest (£3 if you pay higher-rate tax).
If you don’t have a Payroll Giving scheme:
If your payroll department doesn’t offer a scheme, it is easy and inexpensive for them to set one up. They need to get registered with a HMRC registered Payroll Giving Agency (PGA).
Benefits for your Company
Just by taking part in payroll giving, your company is entitled to use the Quality Mark on corporate literature, which is a great way to highlight your work with charities.
Go even further: matched giving
A great incentive to encourage your employees to sign up for payroll giving is to offer to match their donations.
Matched gifts are tax deductible, so pay day donations will go even further for us!
