Samaritans Central Office and your branch may use your date of birth to confirm your identity and to process your criminal record check. Your date of birth should match official documents like your passport or driving licence and may be verified against these.

1. Your personal data

Any personal information supplied as part of this registration process will be collected, stored and used in accordance with the Privacy Statement.

It is important that you provide accurate and complete information about yourself.

2. Access to Samaritans systems

If your application is successful you will be given access to Samaritans systems to facilitate training and your role, this will require you to set up a username and password. It is your responsibility to ensure that your username and password remain secure at all times. You must notify Samaritans immediately if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your log in details.

The content of the materials and documentation that you may have access to in your role are potentially very sensitive and of a highly confidential nature. You must take all reasonable care to maintain confidentiality and prevent unauthorised access.

This includes not leaving your computer unattended and always logging out when away from your computer.

How we'll use your details

We'll use your details to keep in touch about your application, and to manage your involvement with us. We may need to use external organisations to help do this but we'll never let any of them use your details for their benefit.
