Samaritans is here to support millions of key workers who have been putting their mental health under pressure as they form our frontline against the coronavirus.
Together with Mind, Shout and Hospice UK, we have formed Our Frontline which provides free round-the-clock mental health support for all key workers, whenever and wherever they need it, whether it’s a call with a trained volunteer or some dedicated online tools. We want to make sure that we help keep the mental health and wellbeing of our key workers strong and build even better systems of support for the future.
The new lockdown and rise in coronavirus rates means even more pressure on frontline staff and our services will be needed more than ever. We want to do all we can to raise awareness of the help that’s available and encourage people to reach out for support.
Share your story
Sharing your experience of being a key worker throughout the pandemic could help us reach others on the frontline and encourage them to seek support if and when they need it. We would love to hear from you about the impact of being on the frontline, how you take care of your mental wellbeing and why it is so important to do so.
We also want to make sure the mental health support we’re providing to key workers is what they want and need. Sharing your experience will help us better understand what challenges you face, what helps you and what you’d like to see in terms of further support.
How will my story be used?
There are many ways in which your story can help make a difference. These include being featured on the Our Frontline website and via our social media channels, but the main thing is that you decide what you are comfortable with.
We will discuss the options with you and fully support you along the way to make sure you are happy with the activity you wish to take part in.
