Samaritans Cymru Board are recruiting
Samaritans offers a 24/7 helpline service which gives you a safe space where you can talk about what is happening, how you are feeling, and how to find your own way forward.
Could you contribute to Samaritans’ aims in Wales at a national and strategic level? 2012 is an important year for Samaritans in Wales following the launch of the first ever Samaritans Cymru Board which will drive our strategic work over coming years. It will support Samaritans’ Executive Director in Wales and develop new partnerships to allow us to reach more people who need our services.
The Board will meet around three times a year and has places reserved for Samaritans volunteers and non-Samaritans in order to ensure we remain an outward facing organisation guided by the needs of our callers - the Welsh public.
We are now seeking to appoint one non-Samaritan volunteer member who demonstrates strategic knowledge and skills ideally in the area of fundraising / marketing in Wales. You will demonstrate a genuine interest in Samaritans and help us to develop new partnerships which have the potential to raise new funds to support our work in Wales.
This post is unremunerated and we will be seeking a time commitment of approximately 1 day per month. The term is initially for two years.
The deadline for applications is Friday 26th October.
If you are interested in contributing to the valuable work of the Board and would like to find out more please contact us at the Samaritans Wales office on firstname.lastname@example.org for an application form or download the application form and role description below:
