The Prince of Wales to meet Samaritans supporters

The Prince of Wales, the Patron of Samaritans, will host a reception for our supporters at Clarence House, London, on Wednesday 1st May 2013.

The first call to Samaritans was made on 2nd November 1953, and this event will begin our 60th anniversary celebrations.

A number of the charity’s high profile supporters are expected to attend this reception, including: Stephen Fry, Joanna Lumley, Linda Nolan, Geoffrey Munn, Baroness Buscombe, Sir Edward Garnier, Lord Grade, Baroness Wheatcroft and the founder’s daughter, Felicity Varah Harding.

As well as marking 60 years of Samaritans, this engagement will look to the next 60 years and how the charity intends to evolve to meet the challenges of providing new services within the online environment.
