A music festival and a 10k to kickstart 'Talk to us'!

Chitchat at the Wireless Festival

To kick off our national awareness campaign, on Saturday 13 July our inflatable phone Chitchat and the Samaritans team headed to the Wireless music festival in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford, London.

With the day being headlined by Jay Z, Emeli Sande and Calvin Harris, our Samaritans team had the chance to speak to 1000s of people who had travelled from all over to come to the festival.

Team Samaritans at the British 10k

On Sunday 14 July Samaritans entered its first ever staff team into a national competitive sporting event!

Our team of 22 runners and walkers braved the 30+ degree heat to pound the streets of central London, going past the wonderful sights of Trafalgar Square, the London Eye, Westminster Bridge and finishing near 10 Downing Street on Whitehall.

Thank you so much to everyone who turned out on Sunday to support us - it really made all the difference to have friendly faces along the way waving our banners and cheering us on.

We're still totting up how much money we raised but it looks like we've reached our target of 3k so thank you so much to everyone who donated!

You can still donate if you would like to!

Here's some of the team after the race enjoying a refreshing drink, and already talking about what challenge to take on next...!
