Jones Lang LaSalle Property Triathlon raises £104,000 for Samaritans
On Friday, 17th May, the seventh Jones Lang LaSalle Property Triathlon took place at Dorney Lake in Eton and saw 2400 property professionals flexing their muscles for charity.
The event, co-sponsored by Property Week and coordinated by Human Race, comprised a 750m swim, a 21.2km cycle and a 5km run. The event attracted high profile sporting legends including Olympic gold medallist decathlete Daley Thompson and Jones Lang LaSalle sponsored Olympic triathlete Helen Jenkins.
Guy Grainger, UK chief executive at Jones Lang LaSalle, said: “The Property Triathlon is always an excellent opportunity for the industry to get together to raise money for a good cause and the event increases in popularity and stature every year. This year saw a record 2400 competing, and the addition of the 3km Property Swim. Having raised over £1 million in the last seven years, the triathlon is well on its way to heading to the £2 million mark!”
Catherine Johnstone, chief executive at Samaritans commented: “Today's triathlon was a great success - thank you to everyone at Jones Lang LaSalle who was involved in both organising and taking part in the challenge. Samaritans is a charity and we rely heavily on fundraising events like this to allow us to keep our helpline open.
"The event raised a large sum of money which will allow us to continue to deliver our vital round the clock service for people going through a tough time."
