Downing St Celebrations for ICAP Charity Day Donation

Samaritans is proud to be a beneficiary of ICAP's 23rd Charity Day.

ICAP Charity Day 2015 was held on Wednesday 9 December 2015 and raised £7.5 million worldwide, supporting 200 charities. This brings the total amount raised since 1993, to nearly £127 million.
On Thursday 17 March, our celebrity supporter John Sergeant joined our CEO Ruth Sutherland at a reception at 10 Downing Street for the ICAP Charity Day 2015 Cheque Presentation hosted by Samantha Cameron.

The event was attended by ICAP Group CEO Michael Spencer, ICAP’s staff, the 2015 charity beneficiaries and their supporters. It was a wonderful occasion to mark 23 years of ICAP Charity Day.

Sergeant makes Downing St return for Samaritans

TV and radio presenter and broadcaster John Sergeant spoke to guests at the Reception:

“I am very pleased to be here to show my support for Samaritans and for all those involved with ICAP Charity Day. Samaritans is such an impressive charitiy, with 21,000 volunteers working round the clock. Anyone can get in touch if they feel life has become too difficult, for whatever reason. Samaritans don’t judge – they will listen and support.”

Samaritans CEO Ruth Sutherland also addressed the Downing St guests:

“I’d like to thank Samantha Cameron, ICAP Group CEO Michael Spencer and everyone involved in ICAP Charity Day for what has been achieved. The Day was not only enormous fun, but the funds raised will be absolutely vital to us. They will help us reach more people who need our support through the extension of our services online, so that even more people can reach us anytime from any device for free.

“We are also grateful to the Honourable Daphne Guinness and the Isabella Blow Foundation for putting Samaritans forward as ICAP Charity Day beneficiaries.”
