Chitchat around London

On Saturday 20 July our giant inflatable phone Chitchat and the Samaritans team headed out around central London to raise awareness of 'Talk to us', our national awareness and fundraising campaign.

We covered over 3 miles of busy London streets and chatted to 100s of people.

Starting off at Oxford Circus we stopped traffic outside Topshop and Nike Town in our super-fashionable lime green 'Talk to us' T-shirts!

(I think their fashion buyers were seriously interested in our design - neon is all the rage this summer after all.)

Our next stop was Leicester Square where we hovered around the Odeon and Capital FM studios in the hope of snapping a photo with any celebrities (no luck unfortunately).

Then it was on to Trafalgar Square where we managed to avoid the pigeons and hang out with Nelson and the lions...

Dodging the opera singers in Covent Garden, we narrowly avoiding being pulled into a sing-song.

We strolled over to Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament where we discussed politics and current affairs with the potential voters there... and tried to avoid getting into a water fight!

After walking over Westminster Bridge, our tour ended with a Grand Finale by the London Eye and the South Bank.

We had a great day, and are looking forward to spending time around town over the next two days visiting media houses and our main event on 24 July in London Waterloo Station.
