Safeguarding Officer - Volunteer Role Profile (ROI)
People rely on Samaritans every day of the year at significant times in their lives and when they might be at their most vulnerable. We want to ensure our callers are supported to live their lives the way they want to and free from harm.

We offer you the chance to:
- Provide specialist advice on safeguarding matters
- Lead Samaritans’ response to safeguarding concerns
- Support volunteers in managing safeguarding concerns and adhering to guidelines
- Champion Samaritans Safeguarding Policy and ensure best practice across the organisation.
- Receive training to prepare you to undertake the role.
You need these qualities and skills to fulfil this role:
- An interest/experienced in supporting and safeguarding vulnerable adults
- Ability to process information to make an objective and balanced decision
- Experience of working within a team
- Good IT skills and knowledge of data protection legislation.
**If you have worked in education, health, social care, other roles with a duty of care or volunteered in caller support your skills and experience would be ideal for this role.**

Required training for the role will take place on Saturday 10 March 2018 in DUBLIN branch for which expenses will be covered. (Depending on your location an overnight stay on the Friday night may be available).
