Sharing the warmth with our community
During a difficult winter we know it’s more important than ever that we stay connected with each other, in any safe way we can.
Each year on ‘Brew Monday’, the third Monday in January, which is usually known as ‘Blue Monday’ because it is classed as one of the worst day of the year when people might be feeling alone and struggling with their problems or issues, Samaritans of Stockport and District go out into the community, trying to encourage people to reach out to a friend, family member of colleague over a warming cuppa.
Although due to current restrictions, we weren't able to physically do this in 2021 we still wanted to reach out into our community and stay connected. So this year we arranged for digital signs at Stockport Railway Station and sent out packs of tea bags with our contact details to foodbanks, homeless shelters, refuges, community groups and construction sites help us ‘Share the Warmth’ this Brew Monday with our wonderful community.
