Fundraising for the Salisbury and District Samaritans

Fundraising for our own branch is critically important to the Salisbury and District Samaritans - without the money we raise we would not have a branch and this year we need to raise at least £35,000.

Every penny we spend we have to raise ourselves.  Our branch of Samaritans is run entirely by volunteers.  Nobody gets a salary.  Not even the director.  Although we are affiliated to the national Samaritans charity, we receive no funding from them.

We raise money through a variety of different means.  We receive donations, large and small, from generous individuals, including legacies. Other organisations in the Salisbury area have also helped us by donating monies raised at special events, concerts, dancing displays and pantomimes. Read about the options for making a donation on our fundraisig page.

Our volunteers hold many fund raising events, including quizzes, murder-mystery evenings and good old-fashioned tin rattling!

There are many different ways that you can help – from organising your own fund raising activity to being part of a team running a particular event ,  or even just supplying advice, suggestions or contacts.  You can access a list of fundraising ideas here.

Thank you to all Samaritans, their families and friends who have supported us once again during the year.  Without your continued support we would not be able to raise much needed funds and these events are also a good opportunity to reach out to the community.
