What We Do
Since 1971 we've been supporting people from all over the North Hertfordshire area including Hitchin, Stevenage, Letchworth, Baldock and the surrounding towns and villages.
Last year alone we were here for:
28,000 phone calls
4,300 text messages
40 visitors needing face to face support
You will also find our friendly volunteers out and about in the North Hertfordshire area raising awareness and providing support to the community. We can be spotted at local train stations as part of our partnership with Network Rail, at Lister Hospital, or giving talks at schools and community centres. Read more about our outreach work here, or visit our events page to find out what we will be up to in the coming months.
Volunteer with us!
We have a fantastic team of volunteers here at North Hertfordshire Samaritans and we would love for you to join us. Whether you want to become a listening volunteer, get out and about in the community or support us in the branch, there are lots of opportunities available. Find out more about volunteering with us here.
Fundraise with Friends
It costs £72 a day to keep your local Samaritans open, and without donations from generous supporters, we would not be able to ensure everyone has someone to turn to in difficult times.
