Throughout the year you will find Havering Samaritans out and about in the local community, telling people about what we do and raising awareness.
Here are some examples of what we have been up to in 2018:
- The first ever Romford Pride was held in July. A team of local Samaritans took part in the parade and then took a spot onstage to promote our service (top photo).
- Freshers week, the first week when students attend college, is the ideal opportunity to let young people know we are available for them too (second photo).
- We have an excellent relationship with Queen's hospital where thousands visit every day. Volunteers were based in the foyer offering information and support to patients, staff and visitors (third photo)
- Romford Station is the premier transport hub in the borough. We have been present on the platforms and on the concourse on five occasions this year. Once we were joined by students from Frances Bardsley Academy (photo 4) as part of a Life project. Look out for our 24/7 "static bike ride" in December.
If you are part of a local club, society or group and would like us to come along and talk about what we do, then please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
