Our vision is that fewer people die by suicide. We work to achieve this vision by making it our mission to alleviate emotional distress and reduce the incidence of suicidal feelings.

Our History

The branch was founded in 1996 and was originally based in the "The Stables" which are the old stables of the Augustinian Church in Shop Street, Drogheda. Our new home, 3, Leland Place, Stockwell Street, in Drogheda was opened on the 2nd of March, 1998 and in May 2004 we took over number 2, the house next door, for use as a training and meeting centre.

Volunteering in Drogheda and North-East Branch

The Drogheda & North East branch of Samaritans is run entirely by volunteers. We offer our volunteers comprehensive training and continued mentorship in the Drogheda centre. We look for new volunteers in the Spring and Autumn and let people know by features in local papers, radio and television.

If you would like more information or to become a volunteer, we'd love to hear from you. Contact us anytime by filling in the volunteer form.
