We are offering a choice of two walks:

13.5 miles approx. circling Mersea Island on sea walls, coastal paths, beaches and country parks. Start time: 09.00

24 miles approx. travelling by ferry to/from the seaside port of Brightlingsea and later joining the circular walk round Mersea Island. Start time: 07:45

Start, finish and evening party will all be at Ivy Farm, East Mersea (Postcode: CO5 8US; Grid ref: TM066154).

Colchester’s new Mayor Cllr. Gerard Oxford will be on hand to cut the ribbon at the start of the Walk and is also expected to join walkers and organisers at the evening's festivities.

Julie Palmer, local fitness instructor at Just Jules Fitness, will be offering warm up exercises for all walkers prior to the start. Get there early to participate!

Refreshments and water will be provided at the start, finish and all checkpoints, with bacon butties, rolls, fruit and cereals bars at selected stops. Hot drinks and cakes will also be available at the end of your walk.

Evening entertainment by
BEATZ WORK -  a local four piece band with vocalist, playing mostly covers from the 60's through to the present day, along with some original material. The band, consisting of keyboards, drums, base, guitar and vocals has performed at numerous events over the years including the Lord Mayor's Show, and raised a considerable amount of funds for various charities.

Starting from 6pm there will be a HOG-ROAST PARTY (with vegetarian options), followed by musical entertainment and dancing with local band BEATZ WORK. The cost of all this is included in your walk fee. There will also be a REAL ALE cash bar, provided by Colchester CAMRA.

Proceeds from registration fees are to cover our expenses for the day, and surplus funds will go towards the running costs of Colchester Samaritans.
