We've been busy raising money for our branch

A roundup of our recent fund-raising events

Lots of Samaritans from our branch have been volunteering for extra duties in the last few weeks. Following on from a collection at Polhill Garden Centre in September that raised £317, our volunteer Roy and the Orpington Town Band helped us collect £238 outside Bon Marché in Orpington High Street on 2nd December. The band were there with us again the following week and helped our volunteers Jennifer, Val and Anne raise £282. Our third collection with the band raised £279 anf finally our volunteer Steve, whom you might have seen on the charity float at the Lord Mayor's Show in November,  and his wife Sandra raised £266 from busy shoppers on the last Saturday before Christmas! Any spare change that you can donate helps us with our Outreach activities.

Several of our volunteers worked even harder yesterday afternoon in the Glades in Bromley by singing Christmas Carols and songs. That's a photo of them up there. In just two hours of splendid singing, they raised a fantastic £1,000!

What a spectacular effort from all of our volunteers and all of the people who put so much time into organising our events! Massive thanks to them for their enormous efforts to raise the profile of the Samaritans.
