There's been a lot of excitement over the festive period and we'd like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who's helped to make it happen!

Sector Star Awards 2016

The Sector Star Awards are an annual event celebrating the contribution that the voluntary sector makes to the City. This year Brighton, Hove & District Samaritans won the category; ‘Outstanding Volunteering Contribution: Adults’. The judging panel gave the award for ‘the outstanding work that the organisation does each year through the dedication of a huge number of volunteers, who contribute many hours to the local community and who often go unsung’. Winning this award is a great acknowledgement of what Samaritans achieves both locally and nationally. Thanks to the effort our volunteers put in we are able to be available to callers at times that others can’t. Getting this recognition also puts the Branch on the map locally and reminds other organisations and potential callers that we exist. Thank you so much!

Christmas Gift Wrapping

Over the Christmas period you might have spotted our volunteers at the Brighton branch of Waterstones, helping out with some Christmas gift wrapping. This will go a long way towards helping to keep the branch open and of course, top up on biscuits.
