Our branch is made up of over 100 dedicated listening and support volunteers and we're always looking for people to join our team.

Information sessions outline our recruitment process, training schedule and what we expect of our volunteers. They also provide an opportunity to speak to current volunteers and ask questions. 

Information sessions are held at our Centre, 1 Durrant Road, Bournemouth, BH2 6LE.  During 2019 sessions will be held on the dates below. All sessions will begin at 7pm.

If, after attending an information evening, you feel that you would like to proceed with your application, you will be asked to fill in a form, and provide names of two people who can provide a reference for you.  The references will be followed up and you will also be asked to complete the DBS process (paid for by Samaritans). You will then be invited to an informal interview with two Samaritan volunteers, and then invited to a Selection meeting. These processes will help you to make up your mind whether you wish to volunteer for Samaritans - and will help us to decide whether you are a suitable candidate.
