About Boston Samaritans
We are proud to say that there has been a Samaritans branch operating in Boston for over 40 years now. Today, we have about 20 volunteers providing listening services to anyone in distress or despair who contacts us for support. Our services are not just for people who are suicidal, As a Samaritans branch we provide support to anyone in distress through the mediums of text and telephone, whichever format the caller prefers. If you have ideas on how else we might work with the local community or would like us to attend a conference or event to give a talk, get in touch.
Volunteering at Boston Samaritans
There are lots of opportunities to get involved with Boston Samaritans! We have Listening Volunteer roles and Non-Listening Volunteer opportunities. We hold regular information sessions where you can find out more about the work we do and how we do it, what’s involved, and to discuss the time commitment. These sessions are informal and an opportunity for you to meet some volunteers and ask questions to find out if this could be for you. Interested? Fill out an application form today.
Fundraising for Boston Branch
To keep providing the service we do, we rely, completely, on donations and money made from fundraising activities. There are many ways you can help us raise money to keep going. If you would like to get involved, contact us.
